This will be my fourth year teaching grades K-3rd. I have been with the Madison School family this entire time and I am thrilled to have another year here. I love being the Learning Resource Room teacher and helping students with individualized instruction and skills.
I moved to the Coos Bay area in 2010 from Austin, Texas. Prior to that I spent time along the West Coast in Northern California and Central Oregon. I love the landscape along the Oregon Coast and consider it one of the most beautiful areas I have ever encountered.
When I moved to Coos Bay, I enrolled at Southwestern Community College where I earned my Associates Degree and, with the help of the University Center, my Bachelors of Science in Multidisciplinary Elementary Education through Eastern Oregon University and my Special Education Endorsement through Southern Oregon University.
Before becoming a teacher, I was a mom (and still am), childcare provider, computer support technician, and educational assistant in a preschool special education classroom. I have two children who both attend Marshfield High School. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and friends, crochet, read, and work with youth in the 4-H organization.
I look forward to continue getting to know you and your child over this next school year!
I am Ms Boice’s educational assistant in Room 19. I help her with most anything she asks like preparing for classes, assisting with student learning, and straightening up the room after a busy day. This year I can also be seen in the cafeteria and at bus duty.
I have been an Educational Assistant with Coos Bay School District for almost 12 years. Before that I worked with the ESD mostly at Hillcrest Elementary School. This is my second and a half year at Madison and I love it here.
My husband and I live in the country, and we have two geese and four cats. I like to spend lots of time outdoors working in our garden. I enjoy beach combing and when it’s rainy I like watching old movies.
